Paul Rogers

Paul A. Rogers | Managing Director

Paul Rogers is the Managing Director of Spire Consulting, specialising in strategic management, tactical deployment, operational effectiveness, organizational design and optimized resource allocation.   Paul consults to a wide variety of global clients, from Qatar to Queenstown in the tertiary education, health, local government & central government, utilities, oil & gas and commercial property environments.

Paul is a Christchurch based professional engineer with more than 30 years’ experience, having worked for J.P. Morgan, Lloyds of London, Colliers Jardine and AMP Investments. Prior to consulting, Paul was National Manager – Facilities Management at Telecom New Zealand where he was responsible for the performance management of New Zealand’s largest facilities management portfolio.

Paul's research into asset, supply chain and facilities management has been widely published and presented globally.  Paul holds a Master’s Degree of Building Science (Victoria University), and Diploma’s in Environmental Management and Energy Management.  In 1997 he was awarded the Property Council, Property Achiever of the Year Award for research into facilities management and he is also a graduate of the Australian Graduate School of Management, Executive Management Programme.Paul specialises in strategic planning and management, organisational development and supply chain optimisation.

Terry Shannon

Dr. Terry Shannon | Director

PhD, BE.Chem (Hons).

Terry has a wide range of experience in the many facets of business process and its continual improvement.  This has been gained from 35 plus years of experience in processing and manufacturing, commercial, infrastructure, research, tertiary education and local government environments.

Terry’s strength is in understanding complex situations and finding a simple, practical, and enduring solution, that improve the business.  Terry’s patient, collaborative approach leaves the client with a new perspective enabling them to handle future problems well.  

Recently Terry has been involved with Asset Management Plans, Facilities Management, Sales and Operations processes, Enterprise Resource Management, improvement of complex knowledge-based processes and developing decision support methods.

Philip has a wide range of experience in business process improvement, commercial management, and organisational change management. This has been gained from direct and consulting experience across central and local government, manufacturing, new media and commercial businesses. Philip is available for big or small assignments and will tailor the approach and methodology to the specific client’s requirements.

Specific skill sets include business process analysis, improvement and redesign; complex procurement management and outsourcing; strategy and business planning; organisational design and change management. Philip’s enquiring mind and pragmatic approach provide effective project and assignment management.

Julie

Julie Donovan I Senior Consultant 

PhD Mgt, BCom (Hons) Mgt (Cant); Grad. Dip. Mgt (Cant), BPA (Auck.)

Julie has got more than 25 years experience in supply chain improvement, operations and process improvement, project and programme management, and property/facility management both in New Zealand and overseas. This has included providing consultancy services to public and private sector clients including:  Kiwi Income Property Trust, ANZ Bank, Manukau City Council, Auckland City Council, University of Canterbury, Housing New Zealand, Christchurch City Council, Auckland City Council and Property for Industry.

These projects have assisted in  the utilisation and development of a range of skills and knowledge involving: Project Programme compilation and scheduling; Procurement and supply chain strategies and support processes; Risk assessment identification; Problem investigation and troubleshooting; Negotiation skills, relationship management, partnering and alliancing; Analysis of business and supply chain optimisation; Contractual commercial assessment and document compilation; Contractual performance assessment and improvement; Team motivation and coaching.  Her recent area of expertise has focused on the management of complex local government projects involving property assessment, community consultation, and financial analysis and procurement strategies.
